The “Why” list, #1 September 1, 2008

While I’m not allowed to comment on partisan politics, I’d like to put out some hypothetical/abstract things to chew on.
- Why is education a Federal issue? What can the President do at the federal level to improve teacher pay or increase test scores? Why is there virtually no relationship between spending per student and student performance? Why do we keep acting like there is such a relationship? Why isn’t education mentioned in the U.S. Constitution?
- In place of the word “education” in the bullet above, try other things such as “health care,” and “disaster relief.”
- Why is the national border the exception to the above?
- Why do both sides act like there’s a biblical passage about Jesus confronting Caesar?
- Why do people like Ann Coulter?
- Why can’t I find my other sock?
Those poor political attack dogs. They get used up and thrown by the side of the road. If my mind was a little more creative right now, I’d come up with a fake advertisement for adopting them.

Now that I’ve read this, where would I really want to acquire an ecclesiastical endorsement?
